Our First Trip To Sierra Leone to visit the Aberdeen Women Centre in Freetown.
The team visiting Sierra Leone was CEO Aminata Conteh-Biger, our Chair Penny Gerstle, one of our board members Maureen Collins and along side us was SBS Dateline reporter Amos Roberts. Our aim for this visit is to see first hand the work our partners are doing at the Aberdeen Women’s Centre. We have to say, we were amazed at their work. From the moment a patient walks in the clinic, they are treated with so much kindness and respect. We also visited government hospitals and rural communities centres. No argument, Sierra Leone need tremendous work and help for mothers and babies.
The Aminata Maternal Foundation is working hand in hand with Aberdeen Women’s Centre to contribute to restoring health to mothers and babies. Please help us make child birth a joyful experience for mothers and babies of our sisters. No mothers and babies should die just because they are born in Sierra Leone.
With Great Gratitude
