MICHEL ZWECKER

PHILANTHROPY AND PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

Michel has spent most of his working life in the not-for-profit sector as communications, fundraising and philanthropy director. He specialises in brand management, awareness campaigns, marketing, fundraising and relationships development.

Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Michel started his career and spent many years as Communications and Marketing Director for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), based first in Barcelona and then in Sydney, Australia. Through working with MSF, Michel had the opportunity to travel extensively through Africa and developed a great interest in humanitarian and development issues.

Subsequently he worked as Executive Officer of the Centennial Parklands Foundation, Development Manager at the World Animal Protection (WAP), Head of Development at the Australian Museum or Head of Philanthropy at the Sydney based Heart Research Institute. He is currently also working part time with the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOS) to help conservation efforts for the critically endangered Orangutans.

Michel is fluent in Spanish, French and English and has also been involved in documentary production for television and not for profit organisations to raise awareness and promote understanding of key community issues.

Michel is now thrilled to join AMF’s CEO Aminata Conteh-Biger in her efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of women and children in Sierra Leone.
