With mobile ultrasound technology delivered to Binkolo and Kalangba Community Health Centres (CHCs), mothers can now:
- Detect high-risk pregnancies early
- Receive timely referrals
- Make informed decisions about their health and their baby’s future
- We deliver life saving care where it is most needed.
Grounded in over 10 years of experience
With our partners, FONDATION Pierre Fabre, we conducted a deep consultancy study, drawing on a decade of experience in maternal health in Sierra Leone.
To design the program our consultants spoke with:
- Doctors and midwives
- Traditional healers
- Village chiefs and community leaders
Through these conversations and field observations, we designed an intervention that directly addresses the unique challenges of rural healthcare.
The findings were clear:
Change requires systems, trained staff and sustainable infrastructure.
Rebuilding Centres of Excellence
Aligned with the Aminata Maternal Foundation’s mission, and guided by our research with FONDATION Pierre Fabre, we are rebuilding Binkolo and Kalangba CHCs into Centres of Excellence for Maternal Health.
These Centres will:
- Be fully equipped with essential medical tools and technology
- Train and empower midwives and healthcare workers
- Expand care for vulnerable teenage mothers through the Rising Girls program
- Provide reliable emergency transport via mobile clinics and ambulances
