This recognition is awarded to a woman who has set a key new agenda over the past year, leading to better outcomes for others and driving change on a significant issue.
Aminata Conteh-Biger took out the Agenda Setter of the Year Award, for her work establishing the Aminata Maternal Foundation, saving the lives of hundreds of mothers and babies in her home country, Sierra Leone. The judges noted her “ethos and integrity, and how she personifies joy.” They spoke about her going out by herself from Australia, harnessing a deeply traumatic past for the “benefit of wider society and to make the lives of women in her home country safer.” Women’s Agenda.
From over 900 exceptional women nominees in different disciplines, it is encouraging that the incredible accomplishments of our Founder & CEO were recognized especially during a very difficult year.
Congratulations to all finalists and huge appreciation to the Women’s Agenda for the recognition given for all the hard work we do at the Aminata Maternal Foundation to raise awareness of the challenges of access to maternal health in Sierra Leone while actively working with the communities.
